Email: sending limits and good practice

Updated - ago 2 views

Every plan includes email on your domain: webmail, IMAP/POP3, secure SMTP and anti-spam.

Hourly sending limit

To protect the server's reputation (and keep your emails out of spam folders), each account has an hourly sending limit. It is more than enough for normal business email. If you reach it, messages are rejected until the next hour.

If an account suddenly sends hundreds of emails, it usually means its password has been stolen: change it as soon as possible from the panel.

Newsletters and bulk sending

Hosting is not designed for newsletters or mass campaigns. Use a specialised service for that (Mailchimp, Brevo, MailerLite…), which also gives you statistics and handles unsubscribes.

Sending unsolicited bulk email (spam) is prohibited.

Making sure your emails arrive

  • Use the SPF, DKIM and DMARC records shown in the panel in your domain's DNS zone.
  • Don't send from addresses that are not on your domain.
  • Use long, different passwords for each mailbox.

Mailbox space counts towards your plan's total space: delete old emails with large attachments from time to time.
