Each plan includes a maximum number of MariaDB databases, and each one has a maximum size:
| Plan | Databases | Max size of each |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | 1 | 500 MB |
| Basic | 2 | 1 GB |
| Professional | 10 | 1 GB |
| Business | 30 | 2 GB |
All your databases also count towards your plan's total space.
Read-only mode
We check database sizes every hour. If a database exceeds its maximum size, or your account reaches the total space of the plan:
- The database switches to read-only mode: data can be read, but not added or changed.
- Your website keeps working and displays normally, but you cannot publish content, register users, save orders or change settings.
- You receive a notice in the panel and by email.
When the database drops below 95 % of its limit (and there is free space in the plan), writing is restored automatically, without you having to ask.
How to shrink a database
- WordPress: delete revisions, drafts, spam comments and transients with a plugin such as WP-Optimize.
- Online shops: remove abandoned carts, logs and old statistics.
- Empty log or session tables that keep growing.
- In phpMyAdmin (in your panel) you can see which tables take up the most space.
If your database grows naturally (for example, a large catalogue), move to a plan with larger databases.
