CPU, memory and fair use

Updated - ago 3 views

Your hosting runs on a shared server, but each account has its own reserved resources, so other customers' usage does not slow down your website.

Plan CPU RAM
Starter 0.5 cores 512 MB
Basic 1 core 1 GB
Professional 1.5 cores 1.5 GB
Business 2 cores 2 GB

What it means in practice

  • CPU and RAM are shared among all the websites in your account.
  • If your site needs more than is reserved, it does not go down: it just gets slower at peak times.
  • A well-configured WordPress site with caching runs comfortably on the Basic plan with thousands of visits a day.

If your website is slow

  1. Enable caching (for example LiteSpeed Cache, WP Super Cache or W3 Total Cache on WordPress).
  2. Deactivate plugins you don't use and review those that do heavy work (statistics, backups, internal search).
  3. Optimise your images.
  4. Use the latest PHP version your site supports (you can change it in the panel, in your domain's settings).
  5. If it is still not enough, upgrade your plan for more resources.

Fair use

The service is shared and is meant for hosting websites. If a site uses so many resources that it affects the server or other customers (for example during an attack or a script stuck in a loop), we may limit or pause it temporarily. We will let you know and, except in emergencies, do so before taking action.

Prohibited uses

  • Cryptocurrency mining.
  • Storing backups or files that do not belong to your websites (it is not cloud storage).
  • Distributing files for mass download.
  • Sending spam or unsolicited bulk email.
  • Any illegal activity or anything that compromises the security of the server.
